Phillip has a broad-based civil trial practice in state and federal court. He is experienced in commercial, employment, insurance coverage, wrongful death, governmental immunity, personal injury, admiralty, and construction litigation, and also handles appeals and workplace investigations. Phillip is admitted to practice before all Texas state courts, all federal district courts in Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has won numerous arbitrations and also had success in matters in the courts of Mississippi, Louisiana, Colorado and Kansas, as well as before a number of regulatory agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Texas Commission on Human Rights, the Texas Workforce Commission and the Department of Labor.
Phillip grew up in Houston and began his legal career in 1993. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston in 1990, and magna cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 1993, where he was a member of the Law Review, received American Jurisprudence Awards for academic excellence, and was the recipient of academic scholarships.
Phillip has authored legal articles on insurance coverage and admiralty law and given seminars on workplace investigations and governmental immunity. He is active in the legal community and a member of the Houston Bar Association and State Bar of Texas (Litigation and Labor & Employment Sections).
