Zach was born and raised in Boerne, Texas. He attended the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Radio-TV-Film and a Bachelor of Arts in Government.
Zach moved to Houston in 2007 to attend South Texas College of Law, where he was actively involved in the Varsity Moot Court program as both a brief writer and speaker. In 2010, his team won the National Championship at the American Bar Association’s National Moot Court Competition, where he was also named National Best Advocate. Zach was also the winner of the Texas Young Lawyers Association’s Moot Court Competition where he argued before members of the Texas Supreme Court. While at South Texas, Zach was also a Note & Comment Editor for the South Texas Law Review, a Langdell Scholar for Constitutional Law and Contracts, and recipient of the CALI Excellence Awards in Criminal Procedure and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He graduated cum laude in 2010.
After law school, Zach served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul W. Green at the Supreme Court of Texas, and was selected to speak about the Court’s study memo procedure and petition for review practice at the Texas Bar’s Basics of Civil Appellate Practice in September of 2011. He joined the firm in 2011.
